Johannesburg

Sunday, March 22, 2009 | |

After some delays in Atlanta and about 17 hours in the air, I finally made it to Johannesburg. The flight was extremely long, but I was able to sleep for about half of it.
I'm currently sitting in the airport killing time until a shuttle from my school comes to pick me up. Our compound is about 6 hours away from here, in a town called Hazyview.
We do have WiFi at the compound, so I should be able to update daily.
I'm ecstatic to finally be here, but can't wait to be at the school and done with the traveling for now.
I am going to find a cup of coffee and wait for my transfer to get here. I'll update later with more exciting pictures.

Wow, Andrew, thanks for the picture and thanks for calling me all during your travel to keep your mom from worrying any more than a mom WOULD normally worry! :)

Gary and I are really looking forward to visiting your blog for updates and awesome photos.

Be safe and write/call when you can.

Love, Mom

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning...we take turns running to the computer to see if you've updated your blog.

I can't imagine how excited you must be. I know how excited we are because you are experiencing this.

I can't wait to see all of the pictures. Be sure to have someone get one of your face when you finally realize what you've been eating:)

We love you!

Oh, by the way, Katie is joining the Navy. I will give you more details later.

Well, you've been gone a week and it seems like we just took you to the airport. Hopefully you're over your jet lag by now and enjoying everything around you (except for maybe the food and Dad & Beth mentioned).

Be safe and have fun.

Love,
Mom & Gary
