Film Screening

Monday, April 20, 2009 | |

So we finished editing this week. After staring at my film for 2 straight weeks I wasn't really sure how I felt about it, but we had our screening last night and it went really well. I am extremely happy with the outcome of my film, especially since it was the first time I have shot wildlife. I got a LOT of positive feedback, as did the rest of the group. The course director has said over & over that we have produced the most impressive group of films in the WFA's 3 year history.

So after the screening we celebrated, obviously. Then we got up early this morning and drove into Johannesburg to catch a plane to Durban, where I am now at the WildTalk festival. The WFA has a great reputation here, and they normally screen past student's films, but the WFA course director decided to pull those films and showcase ours instead. So Wednesday @ noon my film is going to be played for thousands of people in the industry, including many people from National Geographic and Discovery. I am pumped. This is a huge opportunity.

So we will be here for the next 3 days, attending lectures and workshops, networking, etc.

I am going to wrap this up because a producer from NatGeo just walked by and I need to go introduce myself.

More later!
