I have been super busy since arriving back in South Africa, but I made it here safely and am well underway working with the Shamwari Film Unit.
We are currently filming the third season of a series called Shamwari: A Wild Life. It's basically a reality show (aired on Animal Planet and ABC Australia) about what goes on here at the game reserve. Not only do we spend time filming the wildlife and going on safari drives, but we also follow a lot of the people who work on the reserve. Much of our time is spent following the rangers and wildlife vets who run the animal hospital and rehab center here. They focus on maintaining the health of the animals on the reserve, proper breeding tactics, and rehabilitating animals who have been taken out of their natural habitat. Quite a bit different than the animal hospital I'm used to working at.
I don't really have time to write much more, but here a few pictures until I get another chance to update. These are some of the things we've been filming, as well as a couple pictures of my hut.
